Seasonal forecasts look very different from traditional short-range forecasts. These are the two main differences:

• seasonal forecasts cover the meteorological elements mean values for 3 months;
• seasonal forecasts are in terms of probability.

NIMH issues a synthesis of the seasonal forecasts from several leading world centres.

  Spring (March-April-May): With mean seasonal temperature near or above normal. All three categories below, near, and above normal are equally likely for the seasonal amount of precipitation. Spring 2025 is likely to be similar to spring 2024 or less warm and with less precipitation.

  Summer (June-July-August): With mean seasonal temperature near or above normal and seasonal rainfall near or below normal. Summer 2025 is likely to be similar to or less warm than summer 2024.

The seasonal forecast is updated every month in the interval 27^-th-30^-th
