Seasonal forecasts look very different from traditional short-range forecasts. These are the two main differences:

• seasonal forecasts cover the meteorological elements mean values for 3 months;
• seasonal forecasts are in terms of probability.

NIMH issues a synthesis of the seasonal forecasts from several leading world centres.

     Winter (December-January-February): With mean seasonal temperature near or above normal. All categories below, near, or above normal are equally likely for the seasonal amount of precipitation. Nevertheless the winter of 2024-2025 is likely to be colder and wetter than the winter of 2023-2024.

The seasonal forecast is updated every month in the interval 27^-th-30^-th
